Forty-Seven Million
Uninsured “Americans”!?
· Over ten million non-citizens, many illegal aliens, are included in the figures cited by sources that say that forty some million “Americans” are without insurance.[1], [2]
· Most sources lump all the “uninsured” together regardless of the reason they are uninsured. Some who are eligible for government assistance do not sign up for it. Some can afford health insurance but prefer not to buy it, others are uninsured for short periods of time due to changing jobs, graduating from college etc.,. [3]
· Sixteen percent (16%) of the uninsured have income between $50,000 and 74,999.[4]
· Sixteen percent (16%) of the uninsured have income over $75,000.[5]
· Of the forty-some, million cited there are only 8.2 million that do not have insurance on a long-term basis. [6]
